In July, 2008 the active work was continued for realization of tasks aimed at implementation of the state policy in the field of use of rights to industrial property objects protected on the territory of Ukraine.

Total amount of the registered documents of title made up 234697 as of  01.08.2008: 88456 patents for inventions, including registered inventor’s certificates and 20-year after short ones; 34201 patents for utility models; 17052 patents for industrial designs; 94872 certificates for trademarks and service marks, including divisional applications; 11 integrated circuit topographies; 3 registrations of qualified indication of origin of goods; 2 certificates for the right of use the registered qualified indication of origin.

In July, 2008 State Department of Intellectual Property received 500 applications for inventions, 881 applications for utility models, 1770 applications for trademarks and service marks under national procedure, 941 - under the Madrid Agreement. Total amount of the registered documents in July, 2008 made up 1991 documents of title.

In July 2008, 392 applications for copyright registration and 15 applications for registration of agreements concerning author’s right were filed; 330 decisions on copyright registration and 2 decisions on agreement registration were taken; 226 certificates were issued.

A new Information and Reference System (IRS)  "International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (the Nice Classification). Ninth Edition. Second, amended, edition" was placed  in "Databases, Information and Reference Systems" section.

In June 2008, 345 applications for copyright registration and 16 applications for registration of agreements concerning author’s right were filed; 242 decisions on copyright registration and 10 decisions on agreement registration were taken; 226 certificates were issued. All in all, since the beginning of the current year as for July 1, 2008, 1448 copyright registrations were made and 109 decisions were taken on registration of agreements concerning author’s right for a work.

In June, 2008 State Department of Intellectual Property received 461 applications for inventions, 642 applications for utility models, 1564 applications for trademarks and service marks under national procedure, 985 - under the Madrid Agreement. Total amount of the registered documents in June, 2008 made up 2667 documents of title.
